It is so amazing to me how precisely wonderful mathematics is.  Then I thought, there is absolutely nothing that God made without mathematics.  It is the precise, controlling agent that governs the existence of matter and all of its actions.

I have not studied the application of statistics in mathematics and probably never will -- but it is cool to me how through emails and posts, I am starting to get feedback from posting True Father's speech.  I am sure if we send this speech to enough people, it will take on a life of it's own and will continue to be circulated through cyberspace by members and nonmembers alike.  True Father really wants this speech to be read by everyone.  My husband just put it up on his xanga.  I still have not figured out how to do a podcast, but I know it's not that hard -- then it can be broadcast at all times.

If you hit here, please post the speech on your blog of choice, or email it to 3 nonmembers per day, with a simple intro.  Here is the intro I wrote to my cousins and aunt and uncle:

    Dear all,

Here is an excerpt of a global message Rev. Moon is giving. It's
basically about the loyalty of marriage between a husband and wife, and
the core elements that make that relationship holy and eternal. It's
good reading. Hoping you'll take time and read some of it as food for
thought. There's a link to the whole speech if your interested.

As much as people tag each other and have them answer stupid questions, how much more worthwhile is it to post True Father's Message of Peace?

    The
Emergence of the Universal Peace Federation

    Ladies
and gentlemen, throughout history, people have worked continuously
for peace, based upon human effort alone. Consider the confrontation
between democracy and communism. Outwardly, the difference between
the two was the extent to which they recognized and insured
individual rights and freedoms. Yet from the viewpoint of God’s
providence, Communism and democracy were like children who had lost
their parents. The two divided into the positions of Cain and Abel
respectively and became trapped in the fetters of fraternal conflict.

    Throughout
history, peace movements inevitably reached their limit and ended in
failure because they were carried out by imperfect human beings. This
why the United Nations, although launched with the splendid dream of
realizing world peace, today has to admit its innate limitations and
confess that it can no longer give hope to humanity. This is simply
because the UN was launched during the era prior to the time when God
could directly govern the unfolding of His providence in history.

    Now,
however, it is entirely possible for the Universal Peace Federation
to fulfill its mission to unite heaven and earth and form the kingdom
of the peaceful, ideal world. That is because it represents God’s
victory and the fruit of the True Parents’ blood, sweat and tears.
Therefore, the Universal Peace Federation is the world’s cherished
hope. It will carry out the role of an Abel-type counterpart to the
existing “Cain-type” United Nations, to renew the UN and provide
the leadership for a new sovereignty of universal peace known in
Korean as Cheon Il Guk. Therefore, please bear in mind that
you, as the world’s leaders, are given the heavenly mission to
build God’s substantial homeland, which is no less than the ideal
that God intended at the time of creation.

  • Hey, I like answering stupid questions on forward e-mails! =D Heh heh. No, but really I think it would be awesome if it got around the internet. Imagine how many people could benefit from it! I don't have a lot of contacts, but I'll go ahead and send it out.

And I love that pic. I still don't really understand how you make those, but I think they're awesome. Is there a larger version? It would be cool to see it all close up like. ^^

  • hi.

i like your idea. but i must admit it's rather daunting..people don't really want to come out of their comfort zones and have to put up with what negative reactions they might get. i don't know whether i would send the speeches to non-members because the many i know are strong atheists..or i suppose others don't really know what to believe in...i don't know how much the image of religion has improved in the states...but it's not so wonderful here in britain..people are ashamed even to declare that they're Christian...so i don't know really.

  • I think it depends on how you present it. I sent the speech to a friend of mine who is gay. I love him very much. He became gay years after he was a student at my school. He is not a member. He likes philosophy and ideas, and he and I are good friends, so even though our beliefs have a core antithetical to his current lifestyle, still, there is much we can agree on -- such as bringing down walls between countries, and good parenting being good for kids, and husbands and wives should love each other. Living one way does not preclude a disbelief in another.

You can present stuff in a variety of ways. It's very easy to get stuck in a comfort zone and not tell anybody anything, but then -- sometimes, it's ok to say it. It all depends on the intro that you write. You can even send it to officials that you don't know, if you don't want to tell your friends. But realistically, at some point, you have to stand up for what you believe in. I got roasted like holy hell for starting the first integrated club in my highschool. I got called nigger lover, and there were rumors that to join our club you "had to sleep with a nigger" -- I was from a town steeped in the KKK. Starting an integrated club was a very volatile thing to do. I've never really known a comfort zone. I've been persecuted my whole life for being different. It continues even today. I'm used to it.

I think, for the sake of God, that sometimes we just got to do it, whether or not we feel "comfortable." We can tweek it some for sure, but basically, sometimes we just got to speak out, and obviously, now is one time when Father wants us to do it.

    much love
